Everybody had matching towels

1979 is one of the greatest years ever. You know why? Because this was the year the B52s released their debut single, Rock Lobster (also known as my personal favourite dancing jam of all time). Its fast paced surf style crazyness is unlike anything I've ever heard, especially with all the nonsensical lyrics. Fred Schneider's campness, Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson's kooky sounds and Ricky Wilson's ridiculous - in the best sense - guitar makes this the ultimate party tune (the type of party where people wear tutus and fur coats and bindis and smoke out of shishas and dance until 4am....aka weird parties lol)

As much as this song reminds me of myself (seeing as whenever it comes on I go insane, dancing and bopping and being strange idk), it also reminds me of my best friend, Beth, in the niftiest way possible.

Who knows why? Maybe it's because we are the two most bizarre people (in a good way), in which case we completely match the song. Maybe it's because I always have fun with her no matter what, same goes for whenever I listen to Rock Lobster. And maybe it's because Rock Lobster is the coolest song ever and, well, I think she's the coolest person ever.

This whole entry is a bit all over the show. I've been listening to Rock Lobster today WAY over the normal, sane amount.

Here comes the stingray (wahp oooo wahp), here comes the mantaray (Eeee Eeeee Eeee Eeee)
